Breakfast Club

Term time from 7.45 to 8.50 a.m.

Children are provided with a breakfast (following the current nutritional standards) and supervision including some limited activities. For the older children, they may join other children on the playground after 8.30 a.m. For the younger children (usually those in the Infant and Nursery School), they will be taken to the playground shortly before the start of the school day and supervised until assembled with their class under the supervision of their class teacher. The Breakfast Club staff are the same as those who supervise the After School Club.

After School Club

3.20 p.m. to 5.45 p.m.

Children are provided with a ‘snack’ (following the current nutritional standards required by the DCSF), supervision, a range play activities including arts, sports and structured ICT activities. For the older children, they find their own way to the club either directly at the end of the afternoon teaching session or after extra-curricular activities run by the school. Younger children (usually those in the Infant and Nursery School) are collected by the club supervisors directly from their classrooms at the end of the school day. The Breakspear Buddies Club is staffed by a dedicated team, most of whom have had strong links to the two Breakspear Schools: they are therefore familiar with, and maintain the same ethos and hold the same expectations of the children, albeit in a more relaxed and informal way.

Holiday Club

7.45 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.

The Breakspear Buddies Club functions on some but not all the school holidays. It does not run on a Bank holiday. Parents can check the online booking system for all available dates.

The normal pattern has been:

  • Provision for all the half term holidays.
  • Provision over the Easter holiday (excluding bank holidays)
  • Provision for all the weeks of the summer holiday.
  • No provision during the Christmas long holiday.

Timings for these sessions are the same as the term time arrangements: during the holidays the club starts at 7.45 a.m. and finishes at 5.45 p.m. although you are able to drop off or collect your child at any time within the above timings. Staffing for the holiday club is drawn from the permanent team, though with additional support to allow team members to take their holidays during these periods. Lunch will not be provided by the club, so a packed lunch will need to be provided.
