Assembly and the Daily Act of Collective Worship
Each school day has time set aside for an act of Collective Worship. We seek to provide an experience that is meaningful to children from a variety of family backgrounds, Christian, other faiths, agnostics or atheists. As required by law, however, the prevailing emphasis is one that is broadly Christian. Though this is not considered an element of the official curriculum, it forms a valuable part both of the school day and of the child's learning experiences:
Under the 1944 Education Act parents have the right to withdraw their child from Religious Worship. Those considering doing so are invited to discuss the matter with the Head Teacher.
